Costas Stergiou:
I first came in contact with Nirvana's music about 20 years ago, when I was given a copy of Simon Simopath by a friend deep into the psychedelic 60s and 70s. I was immediately hooked by the band's rich harmonies and original melodies, along with the extended use of all kinds of different instruments and sound effects. 15 years later I became friends with Patrick and produced his 2018 solo album “You 're a Cloud, I'm A Comet”, I found out first-hand how one of my youth's music heroes keeps coming up with bittersweet songs full of unique ideas writing as well as production-wise. And as always, both in Nirvana and solo records, underneath the sweetness and gentleness of Patrick's music and lyrics, there usually lurks a subtle but distinct darker undertone, bordering on the sad but at the same time staying hopeful. This sadder yet hopeful undertone is what I tried to bring up on my recording of Nirvana's masterpiece “All Of Us (The Touchables)”.
